Comments: | This was the first time we had ever been to a Bob Evans and we were very impressed. Everything we ordered was very tasty with ample portions. Nothing on the menu was outrageously priced with most dinners in the $7-$8 range. I had Sirloin Tips on noodles which was very tender. My meal included a salad and rolls so you can see that was a pretty good deal for about $8. I was full even before we ordered dessert. My wife said the onion rings she had were some of the best she has ever tasted. She enjoyed the French Silk pie for dessert and my Blackberry Cobbler was pretty darn good too. They also offer a wide selection of kid's meals in the $2-$4 range. They give kid's a packet with a coloring book, crayons, crackers, childrens menu and a handy wipe. Great idea and it keeps the kids occupied while waiting for the meal to arrive. Service was very good and we had our meals in a very short time even though the restaurant was busy because it was Saturday nite. The waitress kept checking to be sure everything was ok. I felt like we got our moneys worth and I am sure we will return again. |

Comments: | When this restaurant first opened it was a great place to eat! Service and food both excellent. After about 6 months all when to hell in a handbasket. Servers took their sweet time even acknowledging you were
at your table; their attitudes showed their boredom; and once you finally
got your food, you never saw them again until you flagged them down. The
food was great in the beginning; then it turned to less than average. As
their service and food quality dropped, their prices went up!! It was all
a dog-and-pony show in the beginning. Save your money. |

Favorites: | Fried mush! |
Comments: | My grandkids love this place! The eat little pancakes with happy faces on them! I can take it or leave it, but I love mush. The one
inconsistancy with Bob Evans is that many, many times when you order it,
you are told they don't have it. Why? We have been given excuses such as
"the cook made six batches and ruined every one", to, we just sold the
last customer the last piece we had. OH, come on. Just order more from
your vendor! There really are people out here who like fried mush and
there is no excuse for a restaurant to not be able to order in quantities
that are obviously being served. This is the one fault I have with Bob
Evans. That, and the fact that one time I ordered a menu item and the cook
just plain refused to cook it. I had a talk with the manager over that
episode. I do go there once a week and just hope they have enough mush for
me that day! |

Favorites: | Breakfast !! |
Comments: | A friend and I meet for breakfast frequently and spend a while visiting. The coffee is fresh and warmed with a smile, the food comes
quickly and is always just right, the dishes are cleared when we are
through and we are "checked on" to make sure there's nothing we want for -
no matter how long we stay and visit. It is just like being at home -
only you don't have to do the dishes! |

Comments: | Strike one: we waited 25+ minutes for our food. The restaurant was not particularly busy, other than the wait staff visiting with friends. Strike two: once we did get our food it was not hot, nor was it what we ordered. We ordered Ice Tea and did not receive it until we were nearly finished with our meal. My wife had ordered the Bob Evans BLT, but received the plain BLT in stead -- which did not even have mayo on it; the bacon on the sandwich was cold as well. Strike three: our waitress was clueless when it came to customer service. "It wasn't my fault" etc. and then she did not even ask "what can I do to make it good?" One positive fact in our experience was just before we were ready to leave the manager did come to our table to inquire about our experience and when we explained about the food he did give it to us for free. I am not sure if we will ever eat at another Bob Evans Restaurant again. There is too much competition of other restaurants that do take customer service more serious than the Bob Evans Restaurant on Barry Road. Tonight we really regretted that we didn’t do what our very first inclination was…. go to Cracker Barrel. |

Comments: | Bob Evans is a GREAT family place. If you are expecting a swanky upscale restaurant, this is definitely not it! But this is a fantastic place for good home-cooked food. The prices for what you get are really reasonable. I could not believe the cheap and plentiful dishes that I could order for my kids. It's also one of the few restaurants that I can always get into on a Saturday night, unlike so many others nearby that have a 30-60 minute waiting list. Give this place a try! |
