Comments: | when you walk into Shields Manor Bistro, a restored 1850's house, you fell like you are stepping back in time.To an era when guests were greeted, made to feel welcome, and served on the very best china! In this fast paced world we live in today, this relaced atmosphere replenishes our soul and revives our spirits, making our time spent there one to cherish, leaving a desire to return, again and again.
This is a great place for lunch, or perhaps late afternoon tea.
Old fashioned Sunday dinner is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. an Evening Of Pasta, on Thursday evenings, and Romantic Candle light dinners Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30.
Champagne, wines, and beer also. Do try some of their delicious deserts. |

Comments: | We were very happy to see the reviews and be able to get reservations for Valentine's Day 2004. My wife had the Lobster and I had the "crockpot" style roast beef. There were several bad experiences with the food but the highlight was when I cut the lobster open for my wife. All that was there was a grayish brown substance, in both the body and tail. The smell was like dead fish that had been left out to rot. We called it to the attention of the waitress and we were told that all of the lobsters that they had served that evening were like that! They apologized and we didn't have to pay for that dinner but I was charged for mine. I feel this was very poor customer service and that the lobster meat was very dangerous to the health of the customers. This was expecially sad since my wife and I were celebrating our 1st married Valentine's Day together. |

Comments: | This was my first dining experience at Shields and it is my last. There were so many disappointments there: The preparation of the steak, the staff was overworked, noisy crowds all squeezed in two little rooms. |

Comments: | I was excited to try this bistro restaurant. I was quickly dissapointed. There is little good to report. From salad to dessert, my wife and I were not impressed with our anniversary meal. My steak was tough and overcooked- tasted like a Foremen Grill "experiment". My wifes "osso bucco" was fair at best. The lady owner hovered over us too close for our comfort although the gentleman was very pleasing. Very dissappointed here. |
