The guy who owns the place is so nice. On xmas eve last year I went there with a 102 degree fever to buy my boyfriend some of his fav. jasmine tea. The owner could tell I was sick and just took such good care of me, and even gave me a discount! I am so happy for him that is restaurant is so successful. |

Comments: | The Blue Koi is one of the best Chinese restaurants that I have been to in the United States- especially the midwest. Most of the time Chinese restaurants serve gross Americana food like egg foo young or sweet and sour chicken. |

Comments: | Vegans, beware! I went here with friends having read that Blue Koi has vegan options. We told our waiter that we ate no meat, fish, eggs, etc. and ordered the vegetarian dumplings as an appetizer. Our appetizer arrived with our entree (Vegan Delights), which came in a chipped bowl. After a bite of the dumplings, the waiter was asked: "Are you sure these are vegetarian?" He affirmed that they were, but a minute later came back and said, "Actually, they might be chicken." They turned out to be pork! When told about the sharp edge on the chipped soup bowl and that we had falsely been reassured more than once about the dumplings, the owner acted ambivalent. We'll never eat at Blue Koi again and I warn any vegan to TRIPLE-check anything the waitstaff says. |
