Comments: | Lulu's is a wonderful new Kansas City restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is great. Originally located in Lawrence, the owner has moved it to downtown Kansas City, M0. The decor is very cool, check out the wok lamps above the booths! Go check this place out before it gets too popular! It won't be long now... |

Comments: | The food is not really a Thai food. I am Thai so I can tell what it is supposed to be like. For example, chicken satay .. It was weird when they served the chicken satay kabob on the rice. This is actually appetizer and we ususally eat with a toast. I think their food is really plain or too sweet. I feel terrible when one claim to make my nation food and did not do it so well and make other people think this is our country food :(

Comments: | OK, I LOVE Thai food & couldn't have been more disappointed with this place. Service was slow, our waitress seemed to be in a fog, and I
ordered my food spicy & it couldn't have been more bland. I had to add
chili sauce, fish sauce & soy sauce just to make it edible. My dining
companion couldn't even eat hers. Huge disappointment. |

Comments: | I really wanted this to be a great restaurant because of its great location and type of food. As above, I cite lack of freshness in
ingredients and the uninspired service as two reasons not to go back.
Though individual servers may be partially at fault, the managment is
probably not doing much to provide good examples. Plus it is more
expensive than much better SE Asian cafes. |

Comments: | A group of us went there today - we love the food - and had the
most horrendous dining experience ever. We waited for 50 minutes for our
food to be brought to our table. We were less than happy so we asked if
we could speak to the manager. She came over - turned out she is the
owner - and, without giving us a chance to speak, proceeded to berate us
and tell us how she did not care if we ever came back. That is just one
of the nicest things she said to us. I will never return there. I can certainly find a better customer oriented restaurant in the KC area to spend my money. |

Favorites: | Lad Nar |
Comments: | Lulu's is NOT authentic Thai food at all, but what they do, they do very well most of the time. When the kitchen is running smoothly, the Lad Nar is one of the most delicious noodle dishes in town (though it
doesn't have the soupy, sweet gravy of the authentic Thai version). The
dumplings are especially good as well, either steamed or pan-fried. |

Comments: | This is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The food is varied, delicious, and well-prepared. The wait-staff is always willing to give you their input or suggestions on which dishes to try. The atmosphere is perfect for chatting with friends or family (over a bottle of wine) while waiting for your food. Like any ethnic restaurant, it has Americanized its food to cater to the tastes of its clients, but still manages to retain the flavor and uniquiness of its Thai dishes. This is a sit-down restaurant, so don't expect to get your food in 5 minutes - the wait is typical of any other restaurant of this type. |

Comments: | My friends and I really enjoy Lulu's. Our service has been very good. This is not a chain or polished Plaza restaurant and we like that about it. The servers are knowledgeable and without being coached. The food is very flavorful and with the price it makes for a pleasant night out. If KC downtown could get more places like Lulu's it might just become a pleasant place to live (or at least hang out for an evening). |

Comments: | This place is a real mom & pop restaurant with a baby sometimes running around. The decor is hip and unpolished. A beautiful space to hang out in. We are regulars. The food is Americanized by the owner who is half Thai half American. She is very shy but very pleasant. I am hooked on the Lad Nar and the Beef Satay. This place is a great small restaurant with big tastes. |

Comments: | The service was very slow and the wait staff was really rude. The food was ok, but not worth the hour and a half wait AFTER we were seated. I will not ever eat there again! If you like Thai food, visit one of the other wonderful Thai restaurants in the KC area. Avoid this place! |
