Comments: | I can't believe you list kc barbq and leave out the best in kc.
This is one of the original and the few that slices the meat when preparing the sand, or plate. Light smoke flavor is retained and the meat is not dry. Nothing fancy but in my openion the best in Kansas City in Resturant Barb. |

sandwich was the size of a regular sandwich; not what bryants is used to
serving. We were very disappointed; so guess we will head back to
Brooklyn to eat BBQ

Comments: | As far as K.C. BBQ is concerned, Arthur Bryant's 18th. & Brooklyn eatery is the benchmark by which all other pretenders will forever be judged. There is simply no finer source for slow-roasted, smoked meat in the known universe. A.B.'s defies negative opinion; any naysayer is simply wrong. The Original Sauce is quite unique and may take some getting used to, but persevere...it's worth it. In the meantime, there's the more traditional Rich & Spicy alternative. Buy a bottle of each for private home tinkering. Pick up one of their cool t-shirts and be the envy of all your friends! Since writing this review, I've developed some powerful hungries for a big plate of A.B.'s, and I believe that's probably the most sincere compliment I could pay them. Go there. Now. |

Comments: | I have lived in the KC area for 5 years, and Gates has been my primary BBQ stop. I thought I'd try Arthur Bryants. I had a pork sandwich, which was very large, but the seasoning and sauce were both very salty. My wife had a turkey sandwich, and again, the rub was extremely salty, which we didn't like. I saw a customer in a somewhat heated discussion with the manager about something...I think he wanted a refund because he didn't like the food. In that case, the customer was not treated well, as she basically told him to kiss off. Very strange for a business that just opened. |

We were not disappointed by Arthur Bryant's - simply the BEST barbeque I've ever had. The only other place that's ever come close is Bullock's in Durham, NC, but a totally different style and tough to compare the two. I can't get any decent sauce up here in Minnesota (land of Famous Dave's), so I order up AB sauce and rub from their website and try to make my own! |

The ordering at the counter was a little tough with the kids and the long line, but boy was it worth it. The food was great, no franchise bbq taste here. The service was fast and friendly, the cashier took the time to give us directions to a good ice cream place afterwards. And the best thing was nobody cared that the kids were covered in BBQ sauce by the time we left...okay maybe we all were!! |
