Comments: | I've been eating at Jack Stacks (Smoke Stack) whenever possible, no matter what the occasion since I was a young boy in the 1950's when my dad would take us out to eat. There is no finer ham sandwich anywhere! My fondest memories include the times when my dad (Walter) would get together with his brothers Jack and Bob to eat at the original Smoke Stack we knew that Good Times and Good Food were on the way. Now my family continues the tradition whenever we want the very best to eat and a perfect dining experience. |

I have had both positive and negative experiences at JS's... The last one was negative so I haven;t been back since August 23rd. Why do I remmeber the date it was the day my son was born, a lil south of this location. I am not alloed to eat out because I do not control my diet to well unless it is monitored by he wifeee... But to celebrate I took my brother in law to one of my favorite places and it was horrible and to top it of at $50.00... I had contacted mangmet but they didn't seem to care. I left it at that... |

The food has always been consisent in the great taste and excellent quality. Their sauce is my favorite above all other sauces in the KC area. Service has always been great even when the place is packed to the gills with BBQ fans.
I now live in New England and every trip home to Missouri includes at least two stops at Jack's Stack for REAL down home BBQ. |

Comments: | The food and room wonderful. Those are the only things bringing us back. Servers (on 3 different visits) brought salads with entrees, glasses were left empty for more than 20 minutes, other servers walking by with pitchers and not noticing. Our server on one visit was slammed, I understand, but servers from tables around her standing in wait station talking, ignoring customers lifting empty glasses in need of refilling. plates stacked on tables, MANAGERS walked past dozens of times, never a pitcher or a plate touched. I keep giving your location chances hoping it will get better, but each visit sadly, we are disappointed. Being a part of the downtown art district and managing restaurants in and around the Westport and Plaza, it is heart breaking. |

Comments: | The Crown Prime Rib at this restaurant is one of my favorite meals in the nation. It's a must-have when visiting the area.
I've never seen this cut anywhere else, and the ribs are unlike any other I've had - large, meaty, very tender, and very rich - they're wonderful.
Other meals have had very good reviews, but I've given up trying other dishes. The cheesy corn bake is good and what you would expect. |

The Overland Park location is not as good as the Freighthouse and Martin City locations. Every out-of-town guest must experience KC BBQ, and we always take ours to Jackstack. We even had our wedding rehearsal there at the Freighthouse location, which is awesome. Gates and Bryant's are good, but there is no better place than Jackstack to experience KC BBQ. |
