Comments: | It took about 15 minutes to get the salad, then another 30 to get the duck, which was so salty I couldn't finish it. I was still hungry and wanted dessert, but didn't have an extra 30 minutes to wait for it. We had to beg for bread. Our waiter looked at us with contempt when we asked for it. I wish I hadn't dined there. |

Comments: | The food is just wonderful. Have been there three times on various trips to KC from central KS. But don't plan on going back as it was just too crowded to enjoy the food and each other for the prices we paid. Which is too bad since it is only blocks away from my favorite hotel in KC. Don't get to see enough of my husband as it is without having to sit (shoulder to shoulder) next to strangers - not intimate. And since it is so crowded, it is loud and difficult to carry on quiet conversation. But I can tell you the stories from other tables! However, it is less crowded and quieter right when the restaurant opens for the evening. Of course, 2 times we were there were in Nov. and Dec. and perhaps the holiday parties and get togethers were why it was so crowded. The first time we were there was right after their grand opening and it wasn't so busy yet. Don't know what it is like during the rest of the year now that they have been i operation longer. Lots of selection to choose from, almost too much to pick from. Some very unusual entrees like emu and elk. Location can be intimidating at night as it is off the beaten path downtown for those unfamiliar with the area. Parking lot is dark and small and difficult to maneuver, especially in a non-compact vehicle. |

Comments: | This is the restaurant I name when out-of-towners ask me where to find the best meal in Kansas City. (I confess that I haven't sampled the American in a while.) I get happy just thinking about eating here, lingering with friends over cognac, maybe bantering with the bartenders and waitstaff. LFF serves up robust, flavorful, expertly-executed bistro classics with just a little tweaking. It's striking that with so many different entrees chalked on the menus each night, they still turn out such consistently fine meals. The restaurant has a smart, medium-length wine list (4 pages), well above the KC average. It includes many bottles under $40 as well as several really lovely Burgundies and Rhones. I had an exquisite Chateauneuf-du-Pape last time I was here. LFF is not a cheap meal, but nowhere else in town, I think, are the dividends of pleasure so high. |

Comments: | Great food at very reasonable prices. Entrees on average were about $20-24. I had the duck breast with peppercorn cream sauce which was excellent. Service from the waitress was excellent. This may have been because it was not a busy night. Even though we walked in with jeans on, we were treated as well as other people with suits on. |

I took my girlfriend to this little restaurant last Valentine because it was the last one not that day booked-up. Shockingly, this was the best French restaurant I've ever dined in (including those in Paris, France). Even though, the atmosphere was busy and the place was a little tight, the great service and awesome food make up for the lows about this restaurant. I highly suggest that you take that special someone here, you'll not regret a penny you'll spent. |
