Comments: | This is absolutely the only lunch spot in town that my wife and I can depend on to be great everytime we dine there. We love going there weekly and we are treated as though we are a part of their restaurant family. The organization is so well run and the employees stay year after year so we know them all. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to find a perfect lunch spot! |

Restaurant: | Don Pepe's | Location: | 520 Southwest Blvd. |
Cuisine: | Euro - Spanish | Price: | $$$ moderate |

Food: | **** superb | Notes: | The best I've had in a long time. |
Service: | ** very good | Notes: | Friendly, but slow. |
Favorites: | Calamari, Steak Oscar |
Comments: | While the service was slow by American standards the food was well worth the wait. The staff was very warm and solicitious which made up for the slow service. In all fairness we were dining later than usual which might account for the limited wait staff. If you're not in a rush it is a wonderful, relaxing, dining experience. |

Favorites: | Grilled shrimp tapas |
Comments: | I went to La Bodega while over a year ago and I still recall the fresh cilantro, quiet ambiance, and flavorful shrimps. At first glance, I thought this petite tapa wouldn't satisfy my hunger. The flavor, however, was so juicy yet subtle that my hunger was satisfied. It is a great place for a light lunch or after-work cocktails and treats. |

Food: | *** excellent | Notes: | always fresh ingredients, expertly prepared |
Service: | *** excellent | Notes: | attentive, friendly |
Favorites: | filet with gorgonzola, white bean puree, sangria, sauteed mushrooms |
Comments: | La Bodega is one of my favorite restaurants in KC. After 10+ visits to this restaurant, I have never had a bad experience. Service is quick and attentive. Bread is brought quickly and water glasses are never dry. I am indecisive so I love that you are able to select from a variety of both cold and hot tapas and try a bit of everything. I think I've tried just about everything on the menu by now (around 30 different tapas) and there's nothing I haven't liked. Great salads and attractive looking entrees too! Everything is freshly prepared and it shows in the complex flavors. The sangria is an absolute must -- don't leave La Bodega without trying some! |

Comments: | We were lured here by other good reviews but were disappointed. The place is pretentious and overpriced. The food was fine, but this place turned us off a bit. |
