Comments: | When I can't make it down to SW BLVD, I miss Taqueria Mexico the most. The restaurant is set up so that, from the minute you walk in the door, you are gawked at by Mexicans. My Mexican boyfriend even hates it. But I don't mind it, especially when I know I am going to eat Taquitos de Pastor: Soft corn tortillas filled with spiced pork, topped with handfuls of fresh cilantro and white onion. Spoon some salsa and squirt some lime on top, and go to town! You gotta wash it down with a great big ol' HORCHATA! (Sweetened rice milk with vanilla and a little cinnamon) The enchiladas are great, too. If you find yourself staring back at the other diners, just look at the TV...it's always ON! Or go to the jukebox and pay for some nice Latin music! Taqueria Mexico is a good, down-home local place. Don't be afraid. Try it out! |

Comments: | This is the original Taqueria Mexico (#1 of 4 at this writing) and is the best for the food in my opinion. Ran by and patronized by Mexicans and tastes far more authentic than other Mexican restaurants such as Ponak's or Manny's. |

Comments: | This restaurant has fairly decent food if you are eating in. But if you need take-out for any reason, be fore-warned that if you order the chips and an entree, you will be lucky to come away with 5 tablespoons of sauce. That's right...FIVE tablespoons. Not enough for the chips, let alone the entree. Don't waste your time - there are plenty of other, much better Mexican restaurants in KC. |
