Favorites: | KC Strip |
Comments: | The Colony is usually very crowded, since it's one of the cheaper, decent steak houses in Kansas City. The steaks are fine, but the seafood is often cold, overcooked, and not as fresh as it should be. Indeed, the seafood buffet usually looks picked over and on par with what you would expect at the Golden Corral. If you are not in the mood to
grill your own steak, Colony is a good place to go. But, if you want ambiance, attention to detail, and a highly knowledgable waitstaff, you could do better at a high-dollar steak house such as Plaza III. |

Comments: | This was such a let down. I remember when The Colony was down on Broadway with wonderful service and ambience. I would never recommend this place to a friend. They've added a buffet which just dimishes any kind of fine dining atmosphere. |

Comments: | The colony has been favorite within my family for over 30 years! I would not hesitate to recommend it to any friend. It remains one of the few places left in Kansas City where one may experience real quality. This experience is to be savored. Share it with someone you love deeply! |

Comments: | Really really liked this place. I'm gonna go back certainly. It's got a long history in KC and it's just nice to eat somewhere good and local. Good sea food too (which is hard in the midwest!). I give it an 8.75. It's a keeper! |
