Comments: Great place to go (even if there is not much to do in Union Station). Great service from the moment we got in the door. Make sure you reserve well in advance for the weekends as it is tough to get in.

Comments: My husband and I went to Pierpont's for my birthday on June 29. I was really looking forward to the experience. Partly because of the location in Union Station and partly because of the great reviews the restaurant has received in your guide. I was sadly disappointed. The restaurant was beautiful, but the rest of it did not live up to expectations. The service was perfunctory and not very friendly. I felt as though we were an inconvenience to our waiter. We ordered for an appetizer the crab cakes at a cost of $10.50, when they set in front of us two crab cakes about the size of large silver dollars I started to laugh. My husbands duck was good, but my steak was tough. Considering it was almost 20.00 I thought it should have been a better cut. I will never go back to this restaurant again. We eat out quite a bit and I was very unhappy with this experience.

Restaurant: Pierpont'sLocation: Union Station
Cuisine: SeafoodPrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: **** superbNotes: Beautiful!
Food: **** superbNotes: Original seafood dishes (for KC)
Service: **** superbNotes: We felt very special
Favorites: Mussels, ahi tuna, fried lobster
Comments: The Union Station has been beautifully renovated. Pierpont's is a surprise...a beautiful main room and then and upstairs and private dining downstairs. A huge wooden bar, the bartenders run up and down ladders. The wine list was impressive. We've eaten there 3 times, the menu items change (I guess with the availablity) The dishes were interesting, great desserts! It was expensive, but not like a Morton's or American Restaurant. Had a lunch there, it wasn't very quick...but very impressive to clients (especially out of towners)

Favorites: Tuna
Comments: By trading in on the atmosphere the average fare brings far too high a price. It is good, and Union Station is worth the trip.

Restaurant: Pierpont'sLocation: Union Station
Cuisine: Steaks & SeafoodPrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: * averageNotes: Union Station is wonderful, but the tables seemed crowded
Food: * averageNotes: Steak was overcooked, mashed potatoes cold
Service: * averageNotes: Not attentive; forgot a la carte lobster tail
Favorites: Lobster - flavor was great
Comments: For the expense, this place is not worth it. Service was marginal; food temperature wasn't good. I'd recommend J. Gilberts. This was a special occasion and a bit disappointing.

Restaurant: Pierpont'sLocation: Union Station
Cuisine: SeafoodPrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: *** excellentNotes: Nice atmosphere; pretty decorations
Food: **** superbNotes: Seafood was very fresh, which is sometimes a challenge in KC
Service: *** excellentNotes: Waitress was very helpful and attentive
Favorites: Calamari, Cherry crusted Blue Marlin
Comments: All of the food was excellent. I had the Macaroni Lobster with smoked gouda cream; it was delicious but a little too rich. The Blue Marlin however was absolutely wonderful! If you're not a seafood fan, they also have chicken, duck, lambchop, porkchop and several steaks to choose from. I would highly recomend this restaurant, and if you're visiting Union Station for an exibit, this would be a great spot to finish your day.

Service: * averageNotes: Never a high point at Pierpont's or Hereford House
Favorites: Filet, Sea Bass
Comments: We chose Pierpont's for New Year's Eve dinner, in order to take in the ambience of the restaurant, and Union Station. Pierpont's had a special menu for the evening which consisted of a select number of items, at a fixed price. Although the food was excellent, as is always the case at Pierpont's or Hereford House, we found the service to be very typical of this group of establishments. We have noticed for some time now that the philosophy of these restaurants is one of "get them in, and get them out", and unfortunately it was no different for this special evening. Although the menu was higher priced than normal, nothing additional was offered for the occasion. Service was adequate at best, not overly friendly, and as usual, the aforementioned philosophy was in effect. We will not soon return to either establishment, as we feel service in an upscale restaurant should be superior, and not rushed. A recommendation? If you want excellent quality food equal to Pierpont's/Hereford House, consistantly outstanding service, wonderful atmosphere, and a "take your time and enjoy your evening" attitude, try Yahooz's at Town Center. Always a fine restaurant.

Comments: Myself and 10 friends attended during the holiday season for a nice dinner out. We had a private room - very elegant and comfortable. Our waitress was excellent! Especially since she had to deal with 11 young ladies. The price was surpisingly affordable. It is now one of my favorite places to eat!

Restaurant: PierpontsLocation: Union Station
Cuisine: Steak and SeafoodPrice: $$$$ expensive
Ambience: **** superbNotes: Step back in time to fine dining!
Food: Notes: Steaks are usually consistently prepared
Service: *** excellentNotes: Have yet to have bad service
Favorites: Lobster Macaroni and Cheese
Comments: I love everything about this place. HUGE liquor selection (if you can afford it!) I have always requested the Lobster Mac and chz (it is only on the lunch menu) and they have always cheerfully prepared it for me! It sounds weird, but trust me, it's GOOD. It has generous chunks of succulent lobster and pieces of asparagus in a light cheesey sauce. The deserts are pretty good too. Steaks are served with an "edible" flower, but I have yet to eat it! Mashed potatoes are also good here, but are sometimes not served very hot. They have Pony Express beer!!! Made in KS and hard to find in restaurants.
