Comments: | If you're looking for the best steak in Kansas City, you have to
try the Majestic Steakhouse. I've been to the Hereford House, Yahooz, etc. and I still think the Majestic serves the best steak. I recommend the Large Filet cooked medium with mashed potatoes. If you like entertainment while you eat, make a reservation for the downstairs area when they have live jazz. Also, a little known secret is their "members
only" cigar bar on the third floor. Trust me...just go up there and act like you belong. Definitely worth the drive to Downtown! It's nice to get away from the 119th Street clutter once in a while. |

Comments: | We always come back to the Majestic. The steaks are wonderful, the atmosphere and decor are nice and romantic for special occasions, and the service is excellent and friendly. You can choose to enjoy either a quiet dinner upstairs, or dine downstairs with live jazz on Friday and Saturday evenings. Hope you like it as well as we do! |

Comments: | Split decision. On one hand my business dinner guests liked the food and especially the music. But on the other, the food was just average for a good Kansas City steakhouse. Considering the inflated price of the food (due to the live music, I presume) the server didn't earn the automatic 20% tip (on parties of five or more). Overall: A good place if you like the ambiance the music provides. If the food is your primary objective, you can do better. |

Comments: | A prior critic felt he could "do better"-Good Luck!! Management has created a consistent reliable gem, and by no means in the rough - A leader in food quality, presentation ambience, skilled & quiet non-solicitous wait-staff with excellent food and wine knowledge-peerless musicologist performers such as the relentless Bram, affable virtuoso Hal, & infinitely sensitive Tommy - Try do better!! |

Favorites: | Villicana Cabernet |
Comments: | It's cold by the front door (winter night) & people were smoking at the bar (YUK!). The steak was mediocre at best, too thin, too much grizzle, kind of chewy for a medium T-bone. The Villicana Cabernet was expensive ($11 for a partially filled glass), but sooooo worth it. Let it breathe at least 30 minutes, it opens up & is WONDERFUL! Waiter suggested it & he was right on. |
