Comments: | The meal was perfection! A great place to celebrate a special occasion, or just get away to a great restaurant. Very pricy, but worth it. Service by each male waiter I have had there is snobby and unattentive. Looked at me strange when I wanted to order a glass of wine instead of a bottle. (I was the only one drinking wine in our party of 2) Had to order a drink at the bar. Your best bet is to have drinks at the bar with Dave (a real gem) and to ask for a female waitress only. If you want to sit in smoking, make reservations, as they only have 2 smoking tables. I like to tip on the quality of service I received, and not because the bill is 150.00 and I have to. Server was not worth the 30% he was left. Overall, great place to go. |

Comments: | On my most recent trip to the plaza three, the food was excellent (as usual), but the service was awful.. the host downstairs offered to take my coat but then did not help me off with it. He stuffed the coat check tickets in my hand (when they should've been given to the gentleman) and was, in general exceptionally pretentious, which would've been okay if he knew how to be a proper host. I was the only lady sitting at a table with seven men (mid thirties to mid fifties). While two of the gentlemen had excused themselves to the restroom, the waiter (whom was leaning on a cart of raw beef) proceeded to explain the selections with two of the parties absent. His hands were dirty and he handled the raw beef in a very casual manner (which resulted in an almost vulgar display). He was wearing tacky jewelry on his hands and he was not clean shaven. actually he had no skills of a fine dining server. When it was time to order, he looked at the table and asked in a loud voice who was ready to order when it was obvious that ladies always order first. He also offered me wine last. I hear that the wait staff makes $50,000 a year, for what? |

Comments: | Joe Wilcox and his staff do a fantastic job, I always enjoy
taking people there from outside Kansas City. One co-worker from the twin
cities, said he always rates an establishment by the bread, and PIII, was
way above all others on his list. |

Comments: | The wine selection and wonderful menu keep my business, but the service is always sub par. Our last server was in his own world and seemed to have little interest in our table. For such a upscale restaurant, the service always seems to resemble that of a casual dinning establishment. |

Comments: | The food was good the ambience was good and the waitstaff was good; however, for the prices much more attention to detail should be made. It's a fine dining restaurant without the fine dining atmosphere, presentation, etc. First off they serve crudite - seems blah. Second, we ordered crab bisque and it was served very plainly in a white bowl. Thought it would've been a nice touch (obvious for fine dining establishment) to serve with a small drizzle of sherry either on it or in a pitcher tableside. Presentation of steak and all ala carte items was equivalent to a chain restaurant - food on a white plate. Think management needs to be educated on the finer points of managing a fine dining establishment. I would've made so many little changes that could make a big impact. |

Comments: | The service on 2/13/04 was terrible. We had a fairly late reservation due to prior engagements and arrived around 9:30. The food was good, however, our server was unattentive, in a hurry to leave, and led to a very unpleasant visit to Plaza III. |

Comments: | We did not know what kind of restaurant this was when we did a search for places to eat in Kansas City. We were very happy with our choice. The service in the basement was excellent. The manager checked on us several times. The waiter kept the ashtray empty and the glasses full. The jazz quartet was a perfect complement to the meal.We will recommend this to our friends. |

Comments: | I was spoiled by Plaza III. It was the first Kansas City steakhouse that I visited. I thought they would all be this good. I was wrong. Just go to Plaza III, don't bother with any other place. The steak is done to perfection, melts in your mouth with outstanding beef flavor. Service was outstanding; if I looked like I needed something, the waiter was there. It's expensive, and worth every dollar. I wish I lived in KC so I could take my wonderful wife (of 30 years) to such a great place. |

Comments: | I enjoy fine dining very much. I worked at what I like to call the best restaurant that Topeka, Kansas ever had "JJ's Bistro". There, I learned a lot about fine dining and excellent service. I learned how to provide the customer with the best experience they’ve ever had when dining out. I also learn what to expect as a customer from my server when dining out at a fine restaurant. Well, I have to say that Plaza III met all my expectations. I am no expert neither a certified critic, all I'm saying is that based on my experience in the business and as a customer; Palza III has all the characteristics of an top of the line fine dining restaurant. |
