Comments: | I have celebrated my birthday almost every year by dining at the Savoy Grille. I remember having my 16th birthday there, and most recently my 40th. Yes, get our your wallet and make sure it is full to pay for dinner. But, I challenge anyone to find a better place for an all around memorable dining experience in Kansas City. If you like lobster, order the lobster for two and eat it yourself! I plan on celebrating my 80th birthday here. See you in September 2040. |

Food: | substandard | Notes: | Ordered medium rare, served medium. Tough, not tasty. |
Service: | poor | Notes: | 20 minute wait after being seated.. Entrees came in stages |
Favorites: | The four meals ordered were disappointing. |
Comments: | On a Saturday night we were seated immediately (many empty tables), but then we waited 2o minutes for a waiter and a drink order. (A bus boy finally took our drink orders.) We waited another 10 minutes before drinks arrived then another 10 minutes before our waiter took our order. He was kind, but inexperienced and disorganized. Our orders were brought out one at a time with the sides (new potatoes and vegetables) forgotten. We had to ask for them and wine with our meal. The steaks were ordered medium rare, but came out closer to medium well. The sirloin strip was actually room temperature when it arrived. When the waiter brought us the check, he announced the amount each check totaled. As we were leaving, some members of the staff were seated at a table playing catch with a napkin. We left around 9 PM. |

Comments: | We go into KC once or twice a year to visit friends and eat at a different resturant each time. They have been telling us about this one for some time. This unfortunately was the worst dining experience I have had in many years. After 2o min. they noticed we were there. No rolls on the table, drink orders for another 10. We had to ask. The service was laughable, and the food was sub par at best. they overcooked our Chautaubriand and never brought our potato. What a horrible waste of time and money. |

Comments: | A great place to eat. The service is not as good as Mortons, however it is not bad. The steaks are excellent and my GF loves the lobster. I do recommend saving room for the Cheesecake with strawberries. |

Comments: | From the outside, the Savoy Grille looks like a very low profile place being in a century old building and having a simple overhang onto the sidewalk. Once inside and seated, it becomes quite evident that this is a highly exclusive restuarant. The walls are coverd by beautiful murals that contribute heavily to this image. The staff is highly knowledgable at their proffession and very warm and freindly. They were respectfully attentive, but not to the point where they were intrusive. Their steaks were off the chart and their salads were the freshest and best that I have ever had. Overall my visit was very pleasing and I often find myself craving their steak. |
